The CGSociety is proud to present the winners of the challenge with the largest prize draw in our history.

CG CHALLENGE XXIII
WINNERS ANNOUNCED
26 February 2009

This is the fourth CGChallenge in which we have recognized both still image and film works. With this challenge the quality and breadth of work is astonishing. Many of the entries demonstrate a level of expertise, production standards and teamwork that is equal to any professional studio. It is especially encouraging to see such a breadth of styles this time. We have pure CG works, animated paintings, live action with practical effects, cartoon – the list goes on.

I feel that this challenge really does mark a major milestone in the evolution of the CGSociety. Not so many years ago there was a degree of elitism towards pure 3D work. We now have digital artists of diverse skills working together to create astounding works of art and entertainment that are world class – in every imaginable style. This is how it should be – it’s not how you create a work, it's the quality of the finished work and its impact on viewers that is important.

So it is with particular pride and joy that I congratulate all of the entrants who participated; the judges; the staff of Ballistic; the forum leaders; our generous sponsors and of course this year’s winners.

Mark Snoswell, President of the CGSociety.
