The 3D Festival is Europe's leading CG event, attracting over 5000 people annually to Copenhagen for four days of hardcore 3D content. This year, CGNetworks and Gnomon School of Visual Effects were invited to run the conference, organising over sixty speakers to present four days of showcases, workshops, game development and architectural visualization.
Day 1: Special Conference Day
The 3D Festival 2004 kicked off with a Special Conference Day which featured a screening by A-Film of Terkel i Knibe (Terkel in Trouble), a fully-CG feature animation showcasing local Danish talent. Conference attendees were then treated to a presentation on the making of this film.
Shawn Dunn and Greg Butler from Weta Digital followed up with a half-day presentation on the visual effects production and animation experience for Peter Jackson's rendition of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.
