Staged at the Conference center Torino Incontra in Turin Italy, VIEW 2009 continues to showcase the best in Computer Graphics, Interactive Techniques, Digital Cinema, 3D Animation, Gaming and VFX. Every year, the VIEW Conference has continued to attract the very best artists, technologists and educators from across the world, eager to discuss and spread their knowledge and show their work. This year’s conference will be staged from 4th to 7th November 2009. Keynote: Michael Giacchino The keynote speaker for VIEW 2009 will be none other than Emmy Award Winner Michael Giacchino, composer of music for ‘Up’, ‘’Partly Cloudy’, ‘Star Trek’, ‘Ratatouille’, ‘The Incredibles’, ‘Mission Impossible III’, ‘Speed Racer’ and ‘Cloverfield.’ Michael also has the score for TVs ‘Lost’ and ‘Alias’ and a long list of hot game musical theme scores as well.

Glenn Entis co-founded Pacific Data Images (PDI), where he animated, directed, produced and helped lead the studio for over 12 years. In 2000, Glenn joined Electronic Arts and went on to become their Worldwide Studios Chief Visual and Technology Officer. Glenn Entis has earned a Scientific and Technical Award from the Academy of Motion Pictures and Arts, and is president of the Vancouver chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH. At VIEW 2009, Glenn Entis will be discussing ‘The Gamification of Digital Media’.
Roger Guyett is the Visual Effects Supervisor at Industrial Lights & Magic. After 15 years of amazing audiences with ‘Casper’, ‘Twister’, ‘Saving Private Ryan’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’, Guyett earned both Oscar and BAFTA nominations and won the Visual Effects Society Award for Best Visual Effects. Most recently, Guyett was the Visual Effects Supervisor for J.J. Abrams’ eagerly anticipated reboot of the legendary ‘Star Trek franchise’.
Renowned Visual Effects Producer and Chief Technology Officer at Sony Image Imageworks, Rob Bredow will talk about 3D Cinema and the technology of Stereoscopic Visualization.
Bob Whitehill, the Stereoscopic Supervisor from Pixar Animation Studios discusses the phenomenon of 3D Storytelling in ‘Up’, ‘’Toy Story’ and ‘Toy Story 2’.
Travis Hathaway from Pixar Animation Studios will discuss the creative process in the latest animated blockbuster ‘Up’. Carlye Archibeque, the executive producer of the SIGGRAPH 2009 Computer Animation Festival, shows off the best short films this year; also Jayme Wilkinson, the Stereoscopic Supervisor at Blue Sky Studio shows the latest from their production slate.
Executive Producer Jonathan Knight and Chief Visual Officer Henry LaBounta, from Electronic Arts, give their perspective on the art direction in the latest computer games.
Alessandro Bovero and Elena Biondi from the Center of Conservation and Restoration will talk about the future of the past. Using immersive 3D and virtual reality to research and aid restoration.

RenderMan Technical Artist Dylan Sisson shows and gives a hands-on review of the Pixar RenderMan product in this VIEW workshop spells out the strategies, challenges and solutions for the Blue Sky’s first ever stereoscopic 3D film effort, ‘Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs’.
Google Inc. Software Engineer Mike Springer brings along the company’s latest API products and shows how SketchUp and StreetView can be used to create Game CG backgrounds.
Paul Debevec presents an all day workshop called ‘Image-Based Techniques for Photoreal Computer Graphics in Cinema and Games.’
Fernando Luceri presents an advanced view of character animation from the folks at Blender.org.
