Challenge 21 - 'Strange Behaviour' is launched and it is going to be great. An amazing group of sponsors including Boxx Technologies, NVIDIA, Autodesk, Softimage, Maxon, Luxology, Realviz, Corel, Stash, Pixologic, Gnomon Workshop, e-on Software, and Mudbox have joined us to offer an amazing prize pool that exceeds USD$90,000 in value. You can compete in three major categories: Short Film; Animation; and Illustration. Prizes will also be awarded to the best work in an additional nine open categories: Cinematography; Modeling; Matte Painting; Visual FX; Lighting; Texturing; Compositing and Editing; Art Direction; and Screenplay Adaption. Jump onto the forums and register now... it is going to be big!
We spent some time talking to the winners of the last Challenge and learnt how their lives have changed since their amazing short film 'The Shift' was recognised by our judges.
Last week, Barbara Robertson interviewed Senior Animation Supervisor David Schaub (Surf's Up, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Polar Express, Stuart Little 1 & 2, Cast Away, Hollow Man) where he shared some stories from his years of experience, and we learn what skills he looks for in the Animators who make up his team.
Only days to go before the full release of EXPOSÉ 5. This year's edition is a 'must have' with 222 pages including 298 artworks selected from 4570 entries, work from 55 countries, including 108 new artists.
For collectors, the Limited Edition is now available for immediate shipping. Only 1,000 copies of this beautifully crafted leather-bound book are available and you can select your edition number online. The Limited Edition package includes an additional 16 pages of artist profiles and eight Limited Edition prints. Don't forget that CGSociety members also receive free shipping.
Only two weeks left to submit your best work to Ballistic Publishing's character collection 'EXOTIQUE 3' . This is an excellent opportunity to get your work in print.
Have a great week!!
