ok. I made it. It was hard. A lot of tech problems and no sleeping but overall I'm quite satisfied by the result. With more time I could have worked more on textures and lights. Also I had to turn off final gathering otherwise I couldn't make in on time. the final render is the base. The final image is something else, more interesting I hope.
My goal was to make something dramatic, involving some psyco thinking.

another wip. A couple of those aliens are in a placeholder pose and I'm going to pose them in a different way. They are wearing something like a comic book suit and maybe with different psychedelic colors. Still no idea about the backround but it will be something really yellow.
Still to work on the main char.
Little time left I need to hurry.

Another little step. I know I must accelerate this. Anyway more or less this is the main char blocked out. Also the final shot will be with this point of view more or less. Still I have to block out the aliens. Hairs on this are only a placeholder, I will make them with Xsi hair. Face features and hands are rough, I have to work on them; I'm trying to reach an expressive but realistic image. Hope to finish in time because I'm doing like 4 things at the same time these days. |

So I really want to send a big thank u to Softimage for this big opportunity to learn they great program and use it for non commercial projects. Xsi is so ergonomic, clever, easy to use and understand and it never fails me... instead I'm always positively surprised by the smart ideas behind each part of it. Thank u Softimage!
And this last sketch shows that I'm beginning to put down ideas with the other genial tool that I have the awesome Zbrush...
So the idea behind this is to illustrate a schizophrenic guy who has some little cute aliens on his shoulders always talking and touching him all the time. So it's not exactly related to the uplift narrative but I see on the instructions that we can do this. Well, this guy is -uplifted- (or down-lifted?) to a particular and abnormal state of mind...
I really hope to make something interesting here. |
