Title: THE FRONT PAGE NEWS
Notes:
Here is an updated version of the story as it was intended to be seen as a newspaper front page.

The strangeness of human behaviour probably out does most other beings in the galaxy. What other creature with some forsight of consequences of its actions would continue to consume its way to oblivion? Strange indeed.

Thanks to all those who dropped by to take a look and offer words of encouragement and priceless perceptive critique especially guterrez, walrus and harmonix.

Thanks and credits to mv and BARONTiERi for the photoshop brushes. The image was mainly rendered in photoshop with some touches from painter.

Cheers and good luck to all :)

Title: OIL CUTS
Notes:
THE DAILY PLANET:
OIL CUTS SPARK FEARS OF
BIOSPHERE WAR

November 15, 2057 The Earth’s No1 news stories as they happen

Fears of a runaway biosphere war abound today at news of a unprecedented catastrophe at the primary GENEX oil processing plant.

Reports are coming in of a GENEX genetically engineered tree line which has caused untold damage at a primary raw oil processing plant. One logboteer who managed to escape the incident told how the GENEX oil trees overran the processing plant in what he described as a organised attack. The vice-president of GENEX has appealed for calm and said that there is no risk to public
safety. He also said that the plant will be under quarantine until a full investigation can be made.

GENEX has increasingly come under heavy criticism in recent years due to pushing through ever greater evolutionary modifications in gene lines, albeit with enthusiastic support from governments and world trade.

This incident has served to increase fears surrounding GEOs (Genetically Engineered Organisms). A spokesperson from the anti-GEO body, GreenEarth said that that “GENEX have gone too far with GEOs and that they are putting our place in the biosphere in grave danger. This latest incident is a warning that playing God with our genetic heritage could spark a runaway biosphere war, between humans and the Earth's biosphere.”

GENEX HISTORY
The development of GEOs was pioneered by GENEX and its petroleum rich tree was hailed as the saviour of the modern world and ushered in a new industrial renaissance. Further developments increased oil yields by the introduction of more environmentally sentient tree lines. The genus Quercus (oak) was particularly responsive to genetic engineering and expressed higher organism traits such as locomotion. This led to migratory plantations which could more easily adapt to rapidly changing climatic conditions. GEO plant lines also proved to be very beneficial in food crops where yields increased a hundred fold.

OTHER STORIES:
SPACE EXPLORATION
We have news of significant developments in GASA’s (Global Aeronautics and Space Administration) prototype FTL drive and an indepth report on Ghia, rich in natural resources, and described by scientists as Earth’s twin sister before the industrial eras.
