The image is now done and I’m satisfied with the result, after all it’s my first rendering ever (if you don’t count simple flat-shaded model renders) and the image is close to what I had in mind. It has been surprisingly fun to participate in the competition and to look at all the images come to life, and of course get all the feedback. I seriously didn’t think I was going to finish but after a month or so I had put to much valuable after work time into the project to quit.
The idea is simple, my first thought were a servant in some kind of submissive pose and a master standing above. I put a twist to it with some kind of “Nazi” robot play idea, and one thing led to another.
The design on the bots are in many ways kind of “tacky”, I mean they have red terminator eyes (to break through the green colour wall) breasts in metal, a vent on the head and big asses. But hey it’s supposed to be fun.
I will now try to get some sleep before I go to work (in three hours), thanks everyone for your support and feedback and a special thanks to Janne (Carl Wahl) for trigging me to participate, sorry to see that you didn’t finish your challenge.

Tjo, it got trough. Had some major problems to get the image rendered in final resolution. Turned out that my physical memory in Maya was set to -1 for some reason. There is still some tweaking to do (like color tweak on some of the floor plates and reflection) but I can always fall back on this one. Next big thing is to render out the room with the uniformed girls and after that the background wall.
Btw does this count as a render milestone, I mean is it enough?

Did some speed modeling in Maya and Z-brush today, hopefully there is no need to show here hands. She looks way to kind and not so angry at all, maybe I will go over the face in ZB if it doesn't work. Anyhow, she is supposed to be angry because her bot loosed.
Tomorrow I will continue with here friend and some textures.
