Title: Valley of the Vampire Vixens
Notes:
In a land forgotten by time, dinosaurs still roam! Herbivorous sauropods forage for plants, vicious theropods hunt them down... and at the top of the food chain, savage Amazonian vampires feast on them all! When a small plane carrying explorers and scientists crashes in the heretofore undiscovered valley, the men aboard must defend themselves against killer raptor lizards and terrifying pterosaurs. Eventually they will come face to face with the beautiful and barbarous Vampire Vixens!

I'd like to thank everyone for all of your invaluable input during the course of this challenge. I couldn't have done it without your help, and your posts and votes and encouragement is much appreciated. I'd also like to give a big nod to the many classic fantasy and pin-up artists whose body of work served as a huge inspiration for this particular period piece. Most especially Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo, Gil Elvgren, Rich Larson and Mark Schultz, but also the many uncredited artists whose work graced the B-movie posters of yesteryear and whose bold, dynamic, and sometimes cheesy interpretations of their subject manner have served as inspiration to us all for this Challenge. Thank you.

(Sorry for the seemingly-identical repost - I realized that the logo text wasn't picking up any of the paper noise and was looking a little fake because of it. A small detail, but one I wanted to fix.)

Title: pretty much final
Notes:
Hi, all, thank you for all the kind notes! I've made a few more changes. To keep the piece from being too simplistic, color-wise, I've added some subtle purples and oranges and other colors in throughout the image, especially on the ground and foreground foliage... but pretty much everywhere to some degree. Just trying to liven it up a bit. I don't have the energy to come up with my final text right now - it's nearly midnight - so I'll jut share this now and upload a final tomorrow. Hope you like the update. Thanks for all the support!

Title: Am I done?
Notes:
Okay, so I fixed a couple of the last things that were troubling me: I got rid of the big spot of empty space at the bottom by raising the bottom credits a bit, and moved the "Jurassicolor" box towards the center. (which left room for my signature in the lower left, which is a better place for it, don't you think?)

I changed the DigitalScope logo to OmniScope, which sounds much more retro. and I did a bunch of work in the sky, which was feeling too empty. Another volcano plume and some very faint pterodactyl flock helped fill it out without grabbing the eye too much.

I'll sit on it for a day, but am overall feeling pretty good about this. How about the rest of you, anything to add?

Title: poster with background border added
Notes:
Thank you all for the notes! Michael, your explanation really helped me to see where I think people are seeing the phantom dagger. I can't remove her jawline altogether but I hope that by lightening up some parts I've made it a clearer read.

Thank you also, headSmell, of clarifying your comments. I've completely rescaled and reworked the woman, especially her head and arm. At a brief glance, it may look the same, but I think you'll find that on more careful inspection, the body parts work together better.

And of course, I've added the paper on the background, a subtle texture to the whole thing, and a bit of an older feel with folds and yellowed palette. (this pic is a LOT lighter than the last 2 posts, not to mention the weathered yellow hints. I know that a ton of other people are following the same path... but once I'm committing to making a period movie poster, why not go the whole way and be thorough? So what do you all think? This or the darker, less yellow full bleed one I posted earlier ('though of course with the woman in the corner fixed and all that!)
Thoughts?

Title: lower corner couple detail
Notes:
...And here's a close-up of the couple in the lower left corner.
Will she kiss him... or KILL him?!?

Title: pretty much done, I think (?)
Notes:
Thank you all for the comments. You'll see I've redone the copy on the right side. I don't think it will be as confusing as the last version with the intentionally repetitive phrases. And it uses the words "deadly," "sexy," "blood," and "throb" so I think we're all good here for B-movie copy!

I've done a large pass on the ground cover and added a lot more roods and texture. I darkened some bushes around kneeling vampire and lightened her back to make her pop more. And I completely repainted the couple in the lower left, which I'll post in a minute.

Overall, I feel like I'm pretty much done. The only thing I can see is to decide whether I want to make it look like an old poster, as Aven99 suggested. But if anyone sees anything at all to fix or improve, no matter how small, or if you have any opinions on the weathering and paper textures, please call it out!

Title: more typography added
Notes:
Thank you all for the comments and for sharing your opinions about the type. Here's the latest version, with typography at the bottom to balance out the whole image, including a little portrait that still needs a lot more work. A few other fixes too, including another change to the costume behind standing-Vampiress' right hand to try to make that area read more clearly.
